AFL Victoria Junior Curriculum Coaching RoadShow
To All Accredited Junior Coaches,
With the original night for the Junior Coaching Curriculum Roadshow being cancelled due to lockdown, and the second attempted session also impacted by the most recent lockdown, the night has been rescheduled for Monday 16th August.
Similar sessions have already been held around the state so far this year and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from the people who have attended. If you are free on this night, I highly recommend you attend the session as hopefully you will find it beneficial for your coach development.
The main aim of the session is to cover some prescribed training sessions which will make it simple and easy for parent and volunteer junior coaches to deliver. The program has been developed with the support of industry experts across coaching and education and has been incorporated into the Rookie Me – RM Coach platform, an activities and training sessions library, available to all coaches through their CoachAFL Membership.
The curriculum aims to Improve the quality of coaching at Junior levels and thus subsequent experiences of the kids that play junior footy, along with providing national consistency in the standard and delivery of training content for Junior footy. This will ensure every training session is Safe, Organised, Engaging and Fun.
Coaches will be supported through resources including:
- A JCC Guidebook outlining the philosophies behind the curriculum
- A video series to further educate and support coaches around the JCC and Principles of Play
The session will be facilitated by Ricky Coburn who is the State Coaching & Development Lead, and Ricky will be assisted by some other experienced coaches on the night.
This is a fantastic opportunity for all Junior Coaches. Please ensure you register for the session if you are planning on attending (register through the attached document).
Coaches will need to be a CoachAFL Member to register through the link below.
